'Korea' drifts...=)

Have you heard about Michael and Jeanie’s love story in “It started with a Kiss”? Or heard about the story of the attractive Ken and sassy Shirley tandem in the sweet and endearing “Love Contract”. Maybe the funny show of the impish and feisty Jessie and the gorgeous Justin in “Full House”. Or the romance of Vivian and Carlo in Lovers in Paris. It might be the perfect combination of Julian and Jasmine in “My Girl”. Or the magnificent and endearing show about a prince falling in love with an ordinary girl in the well-known koreanovela “Princess Hours”. Well, guys, these shows come from the country of Korea.

Can anyone notice that we are actually addicted to koreanovelas (term used for shows or dramas from Korea)? Filipinos are really fond of watching movies or series of shows that can strike your heart like teleseryes, miniseries, and the most common and widespread show that Filipinos are really waiting for even if it is too late to watch them, the koreanovelas. Ever wonder why Filipinos are addicted to these kinds of series? And to think it came from the other side of Asia.

Koreanovelas (as what they are known here in our country) or Korean dramas Korean drama refers to televised dramas, similar to Western miniseries, produced in the Korean language for Korean audiences. Many of these dramas have become popular throughout Asia and have contributed to the general phenomenon of the Korean wave. Most popular Korean dramas have also become popular in Japan. It really influenced other Asian countries like the Philippines.

Korean drama clichés also appear in a comedic way, including the camera set-up style, constant replayed clips, melodramatic music, and the tragic love triangle. These skits were supposedly filmed by Korean drama directors.

Korean television (comic programs, dramas, news, and other genres) shares some similarity with Japanese television as opposed to American (Western) television. Some popular Korean dramas such as Dae Jang Geum ("The Jewel in the Palace") have also showcased traditional Korean ways of life, and often depict Confucian values.
I wonder why people here in the Philippines, especially the cebuanos love Korean dramas. I think it is because it is new here in our country. Of course, people love to try something new. And I also think that these dramas also have great and extreme mass appeal. Imagine, almost all the highest rating shows here are from Korea. No wonder I got addicted with it, especially in Princess Hours. It might also be that the actors and actresses are all beautiful and handsome. It is true. I got addicted with Princess Hours because of the unfamiliar but cute, charming and sweet face of the crowned princess Janelle and the handsome, captivating faces of Prince Troy and Prince Gian. I almost think that Korea wants to invade us, what do you think?! Seems like we are invaded by their dramas. But keep this in mind, whatever we watch, whoever we idolize; we are Filipinos and not Koreans so we should patronize our own products.

Unleashing the secrets of the Da Vinci Code...

Novels, short stories, pocket book. Just name it. I have already read each of them. In short stories, I have read about Cris and Sam tandem in “Send my love to Heaven”. For pocket books, I like “The Baby-Sitter’s Club” and “Sweet Valley High”. For the novels, to my greatest surprise and revelation, I found “The Da Vinci Code” as interesting as my favorite books. Well actually, I never got so shocked when I heard about the novel being one of the considered best-selling books in history. But I was extremely shocked when I heard that “The Da Vinci Code” was opposed and strictly forbidden by the Roman Catholic Church. Do you want to know why? Because there are ‘FICTIONAL’ secrets about Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene (the prostitute who is Jesus’ close friend). Wan to know what these secrets are? Here it goes… Just chill in!

* Was Jesus Christ Married?
Based upon what we have learned so far, it should then come as no surprise to learn that some would claim the outrageous—that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. A passage from the Gospel of Philip is often cited as proof of their union: “And the companion of the Savior is Mary Magdalene. But Christ loved her more than all the disciples and used to kiss her often on her mouth. The rest of the disciples were offended by it and expressed disapproval.
*Do they have a child?
Because it stated “in the book” that Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene were married, you might as well expect that they have children. In the book, it was stated that they had a beautiful daughter named Sarah. Mary Magdalene gave birth on her after Jesus had died and that after she was exiled in Jerusalem. You should have seen it in the movies, the way she gave birth, it was tragic! Instead of lying down, she was STANDING and at the same time holding a pair of ropes for support. Poor lady… I was so much surprised when I read the part that they got married, to be honest, I almost cried. I was mad on the author for not respecting our religion. But now, I think little by little, I began to understand the nature of the author. I think it is because Leonardo Da Vinci is not a Roman Catholic by birth. I think that was one of the reasons why the author connected our faith to the famous painter. It was also said that Da Vinci was famous for secret codes, which were hidden on his paintings like Madonna on the Rocks and his famous portrait of The Mona Lisa. Well, for my opinion, I think the Roman Catholic Church shouldn’t band the novel because it was so clear in the cover that it was just fictional. I don’t believe these kinds of speculations. I don’t think these could ruin my faith with God. I have so much faith on him. If you also have the same

Dancing as my Passion..=)

“Dance! Let the music take you over. Dance! Let the beat become your lover. Dance! You can’t stop us when we lose control…Oh…Just dance!” This line became my inspiration on pursuing what my heart desires: DANCING!
You know, when I was just a little girl, I don’t have any hobby or likes. Sometimes, I consider myself as a ‘girl-without-talents’ because it’s true, I don’t have any talents. I pity myself because I don’t certainly know what really makes me happy. In those days, what makes me happy could be a bunch of chocolate bars and playing all-day long. But one incident happened that changed my whole life through. It is actually the day when I realized that I have a talent and that I love to dance. All day, all night, all which was on my mind, was DANCING. I don’t know what happened on that day. All I remembered was that I feel like I was struck by cupid’s arrow and found myself in love with my passion, DANCING! Those times, I actually got positive comment from the people—that they like the way I dance because I was graceful, which made me flatter, of course and some negative feedbacks, which really helped me improve my dancing skills.

Dancing, for other people’s thoughts, is a kind of exercise to maintain the shape of ones body. For people who are quite heavy in size dance to get back to their natural and normal size. But for me, since I am not as big as an elephant and not as skinny as a skeleton, I dance because it is what my heart tells me. It tells me to dance as much as I want if I really wanted to be happy. Of course, there are many reasons why I should be happy and dancing is one of them. I really, really love to dance. I really thanked God fro giving me this kind of talent because not all teenagers of my age are gifted with dancing but are gifted with a golden voice, gifted to be a magnificent painter someday, or maybe a member of a famous band here in the country. Okay, back to dancing.

I really can’t wait to dance. It seems that ever time I hear dance music, which can really give you up to the beat and rhythm of the song, I can’t control myself. Sometimes, my classmates would notice that I would feel like dancing but just controlling myself because I might get embarrassed. But sometimes, whenever I can’t control myself, I would dance and to my surprise (I was shocked a little bit), some of my classmates would also feel that they like to dance to the rhythm of the song. I actually think it would be fun.

And without the support from my family, who are always there for me and will support me on where I would feel happy, and my friends, who are willing to help me improve my talents. Without them, I would have quitted my passion.

What if God was one of Us?!

“Yeah, God is great! Yeah, God is good! What if God was one of us? Just a stranger on the bus, trying to make his way home. Nobody’s calling on the phone. Except for the pope maybe in Rome.”(One of Us)

I know. Does the song seem familiar to you? Well, it was one of my favorite songs because it let us reflect what we would have done if God is just a stranger like one of us. I sometimes came to think: ‘What if God was one of us?’ Tough question, isn’t it? Yeah, I know.

God is so powerful that he would come down to earth or the world just to see if every little thing he has made was okay. See how caring God could be? But whatever God do to make us closer to him, why do some people still stay away from his grace and instead, commit themselves to other things. They thought that God couldn’t give them what they want in an instant like money, shelter, food, and other essential and necessary things. To get what they want, they just do things, which are not good enough for the people. They know that God is merciful, gracious and compassionate enough to forgive them because God has the power to forgive sins. But have you thought that maybe God would become tired for forgiveness, go down to the world of human kind and be like each one of us: just a person, maybe without power, but a person who would just sit by your side whenever you feel down and lonely.

I know a story about a person who thought she would have no friends and remain friendless throughout her life. But suddenly, someone just sits right by her side and just listens to all her feelings. I just thought right from the start that it was the Lord our God who comforted that lady. Every where the lady goes, someone always follows her to see if she is safe and sound. If she needs help, a person comes along and ready to listen to all her emotional problems. You see, we don’t notice God’s presence but we actually got close to him. It is amazing to see some people that don’t question the existence of God. I can’t actually picture myself hanging around with God without even noticing who he really was. Maybe he has already been with me but because of the busy streets I was in to; maybe I haven’t seen him and noticed him.

God is so merciful. I can tell that every time I pray and confessed my sins. I used to ask for signs from Him which would truly explain that He has already forgiven me. And guess what? Those signs came true. Since then, I never asked for any signs again because I know that God really forgives sins in spite of all the sins you’ve done. But we should also think that we shouldn’t abuse His gracious and loving nature. Instead, we should have grown close to him every time you feel that He is with you.
FALLACY… Fallacy is a statement which is proven to be untrue. You just need common sense to recognize it and realize that that statement is a fallacy. I could not actually tell what a fallacy really is. I never heard such word since I read the story, LOVE is a fallacy. Lies, dishonest statements, fake situations, unforgivable mistakes, not genuine emotions, are they also considered fallacies? I don’t know. But one thing is for sure: LOVE is not a fallacy.

Love is an unexplained phenomenon in which a human being feels as light as a feather, as happy as a clown and the feeling like you were brought to heaven—for quite sometime, of course! Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness. In ordinary use, love usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience felt by a person for another person. Love often involves caring for or identifying with a person or thing, including oneself. So why do people consider love as a fallacy. I really could not figure it out at first but now, I think it is time to react on this issue.

Love, sometimes, could be considered as a fallacy depending on a situation a person maybe situated in. For example, if you only loved a girl or a guy because of his or her wealth, even though she is not as pretty as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba or me (just kidding!) or he is not as handsome as Brad Pitt or Leonardo de Caprio, then love in that situation is proven as a fallacy. Why? It is because you do not love that exact person but his or her wealth, jewelry and other luxurious things. You can also tell that love is a fallacy if you are just forced to love that person. Maybe out of pity because that person loves you so much and he or she is willing to die for you, or maybe because that person threatened you that he or she would commit suicide if you can not accept him or her. See what love can do?

But what if you love that person for who she or he is right now, would you still consider love as a fallacy? Of course not! Loving can sometimes be the hardest thing you will ever learn yet the most wonderful and exciting thing that happened to your life. I really can’t tell if LOVE is true. But I can do tell that LOVE actually exists but people loved so much that they are ready to hurt someone and kill for their loved ones. Sometimes you will never wish to love because of the pain it might have caused you. But always keep this I mind that the heart would feel tired but will never stop loving. You will still love and hurt at the same time because pain is part of loving. And the heart will never stop to love until love becomes a fallacy...=)

A-N-I-M-E FEVER!...

Are you fond of watching TV? If you are not, then you might lose half of your life. Just kidding. If you are, then you must be an avid fan of ANIMES, am I right? Of course I am. I am so sure that teenagers who are fond of watching television are also fond of watching ANIMES. So you are familiar with that ninja-style anime called “Naruto” or the longhaired gorgeous guy named “Inuyasha” or the anime about basketball called “Slam Dunk”? If you are, then join the club. There are lots of animes to pick. Sporty and athletic category, romantic category, action category or the violent ones. So, check this out! This is my list of my 5 favorite anime shows. You might think that I must be obsessed because I really am…

Prince of Tennis
The manga is primarily set in Tokyo. Ryoma Echizen, a tennis prodigy, attends Seishun Gakuen or Seigaku for short, a school famous for its strong tennis club and talented players. Ryoma quickly defeats numerous upperclassmen shortly after entrance to secure himself a spot on the regulars team. In pursuit of their ultimate goal of winning the all-Japan junior high tennis championship, members of the team make new friends while learning and mastering increasingly complex techniques.
DN Angel7
The 14-year-old protagonist of the story is a typical school boy who has a crush on a girl at his school, Risa Harada. However, because of the Niwa family heritage, his special DNA merged with that of the famed phantom thief, Dark, when he was rejected by Risa. Daisuke, as a Niwa, has been trained in thievery all his life. He can dodge traps, pick locks, sneak past security, and break into almost any location. However, he prefers to create art, not steal it. Which makes him more like one of the Hikari's in a sense.
I love the way the story goes. There are adventure scenes paired up with romantic love scenes.
Inuyasha
The story centers around a time traveling middle school student and her friends (a half-demon, a lecherous monk, a kitsune, a demon slayer, and her nekomata companion) in the Sengoku Jidai who seek to restore the Shikon no Tama and keep it out of the hands of the evil Naraku. It’s so ramantic that you can’t even dare to take your eyes off the television!
Flame of Recca
Flame of Recca is about a highschool student named Recca Hanabishi, who aspires to be a ninja and is obsessed with anything ninja-related. After meeting a girl named Yanagi Sakoshita, whom he acknowledged to be his princess, and a mysterious woman named Shadow who apparently attacked him for no reason at all, he finds that he not only comes from a long-dead ninja clan of 400-years past, he also can control his personal Flame. I was the first anime which captivates my eyes when I first saw it!
Yugi-oh!
Capsule Monsters involves Yugi, Joey (Jonouchi), Téa (Anzu), Tristan (Honda), and Yugi's grandfather Solomon (Sugoroku) being pulled into a world where Duel Monsters are real. They find monster capsules that they can use to summon monsters. With their amazing effects and with the sight of their fearless monsters, you would surely love to watch animes FOREVER!

I really can’t wait for summer to come because it is the only time I can watch my favorite animes and to spend my afternoon with them. I might be exaggerating a lot due to my excitement. I really can’t wait for that time.

Summary: LOVE is a Fallacy

It is not often that one so young has such a giant intellect. Take, for example, Petey Bellows, my roommate at the university. Same age, same background, but dumb as an ok.
"Raccoon," he mumbled thickly.
"Raccoon?" I said, pausing in my flight.
"I want a raccoon coat," he wailed.
"Can you mean," I said incredulously, "that people are actually wearing raccoon coats again?"
"All the Big Men on Campus are wearing them. "I've got to have a raccoon coat," he said passionately. "I've got to!"
"Petey, why? Look at it rationally. Raccoon coats are unsanitary. They shed. They smell bad. They weigh too much. They're unsightly. They—-"
"You don't understand," he interrupted impatiently. "It's the thing to do. Don't you want to be in the swim?"
"No," I said truthfully.
"Well, I do," he declared. "I'd give anything for a raccoon coat. Anything!"
My brain, that precision instrument, slipped into high gear. "Anything?"
. I refer to his girl, Polly Espy.
Beautiful she was. She was not yet of pin-up proportions, but I felt sure that time would supply the lack. Gracious she was. By gracious I mean full of graces. She had an erectness of carriage.
Intelligent she was not. In fact, she veered in the opposite direction. But I believed that under my guidance she would smarten up. It is, after all, easier to make a beautiful dumb girl smart than to make an ugly smart girl beautiful.
"Where are you going?" asked Petey.
"Home for the weekend."
"Look," I said to Petey when I got back Monday morning. "Holy Toledo!" he repeated fifteen or twenty times.
"Would you like it?" I asked.
"Oh yes!" he cried, clutching the greasy pelt to him. "What do you want for it?"
“I want your girl”
"Polly?" he asked in a horrified whisper.
"Try on the coat," said I.
He complied.. "Fits fine," he said happily.
"Is it a deal?" I asked, extending my hand.
I took her first to dinner. "Gee, that was a delish dinner," she said as we left the restaurant. Then I took her to a movie. "Gee, that was a marvy movie," she said as we left the theater. And then I took her home. "Gee, I had a sensaysh time," she said as she bade me goodnight.
We went to the Knoll, the campus trysting place, and we sat down under an oak, and she looked at me expectantly: "What are we going to talk about?" she asked.
I winced, but went bravely on. "First let us examine the fallacy called Dicto Simpliciter."
"Then tell me some more fallacies."
"All right. Let's try Contradictory Premises."
"Yes, let's," she chirped, blinking her eyes happily. The evening passed and we spend the next evening discussing fallacies.
Seated under the oak the next evening I said, "Our first fallacy tonight is called Ad Misericordiam."
"The next fallacy is called Poisoning the Well."
"How cute!" she gurgled.
"Fire away," she said with an airy wave of her hand.
Heartened by the knowledge that Polly was not altogether a cretin, I began a long, patient review of all I had told her.
"Polly," I said when we next sat beneath our oak, "tonight we will not discuss fallacies."

"My dear," I said, "we have now spent five evenings together. We have gotten along splendidly. It is clear that we are well matched."
"Hasty Generalization," said Polly brightly.
"I beg your pardon," said I.
"Hasty Generalization," she repeated. I chuckled with amusement. The dear child had learned her lessons well. "My dear," I said, patting her head in a tolerant manner, "five dates is plenty. After all, you don't have to eat a whole cake to know that it's good."
"Ad Misericordiam," said Polly.
"Well, Polly," I said, forcing a smile, "you certainly have learned your fallacies."
"You did."
"That's right. So you do owe me something, don't you, my dear? If I hadn't come along you would never have learned about fallacies."
"Hypothesis Contrary to Fact," she said instantly.
"Dicto Simpliciter," she said, wagging her finger at me playfully.
That did it. I leaped to my feet, bellowing like a bull. "Will you or will you not go steady with me?"
"I will not," she replied.
"Why not?" I demanded.
"Because this afternoon I promised Petey Bellows that I would go steady with him."
"Poisoning the Well," said Polly, "and stop shouting.” “I’ll be going steady with Petey Bellows." I think shouting must be a fallacy too."
With an immense effort of will, I modulated my voice. "All right," I said. How could you choose Petey Bellows over me? Can you give me one logical reason why you should go steady with Petey Bellows?"
"I certainly can," declared Polly. "He's got a raccoon coat."

What a UP student is not...

Define a UP student. You know what people usually say about us: that we are intelligent, gifted, somehow would become the future leaders of our country, diligent, responsible enough, and other positive things we hear from the response of the people. You should expect this kind of replies and responses from the people. Notice that they usually say ‘positive’ and encouraging comments from them. But do they actually know what UP students are really like? Defining students positively is already very frequent and universal. Why don’t they define as in the other way or the negative sides of UP students? You’re kind of shocked, right? But anyway, below are some of the negative sides of a UP student:

People have different sides of personalities, even though you are a student in UP, it doesn’t mean that you are excellent and that you are a perfect student. It means that you are taking the challenge given to you and that you should be able to survive in this school. We are given the chance to
Answers back his or her teachers. Outside the classroom, we treat our teachers like each one of us. They jam with us and we enjoy their company. But take note, whenever they are inside the classrooms or in the places which they are assigned to, always keep this in mind that they are the person in authority. Don’t ever go beyond your limitations towards your teacher. Whenever you were scolded, just don’t say anything. Reflect on your mistakes and say sorry. Of course, we are known to respect our teachers.
Some UP students take fro granted the opportunity given to them. This is super true. We should be doing our best even though you do not qualify in the honor’s list; at least you know that you’ve done your part as a student. We should not waste the taxes of the people especially those of the poor ones.
Some students don’t have the initiative to do his or her part in school works. Help in here doesn’t mean that you would copy the answers of your classmates. As in, everything. It is just like disrespecting your classmate because come to think of it: they made that assignment late at night. They made it their selves and they worked hard for it, then you’ll just copy it? Oh, c’mon! I mean, making assignments in school isn’t really bad. If you can’t understand the assignment, you can make it the next day with the help of other people.
They don’t seem to use their common sense. You know what I mean? It is like you were applying philosophy in every sentence that came out on your mouth without even reflecting that you could have hurt other people’s feelings or irritate someone with this kind of behavior.
The way some students use bad words. Always keep this in mind that we are bringing the name of the school and it could give the university a very bad image among the people.

And if I value this guy so much, no wonder, I also love him. =)

Sizzling Hot!

Summer is coming! Are you ready to take a plunge in the cold oceans of the beach? Of course, sun bathing is the most popular thing people do during summer. I really can’t wait to go to the province with my family and spend my one-week vacation there. I imagine myself enjoying the white sand of the beach and the cool waters and fresh breeze of the wind. But my one great problem ruined and spoiled my vacation: the heat from the sun. It is hurts my eyes every time I emerge from the water. It hurts my skin whenever I come out from our house to meet my friends. Take note, excessive exposure to sunlight can cause skin cancer as well as premature winkling and aging of the skin. In proper amounts, however, the sun’s rays can be good for your health. But somehow, you should know that burning the skin is extremely harmful for everyone.
According to some books, every burn destroys healthy, living tissue. Repeated burns cause irreversible damage and can set up a person for skin cancer. And if all that isn’t bad enough, repeated sunburn and even repeated deep tanning of the skin gradually destroy its elasticity and its oil glands, producing wrinkling and premature aging. Some recent studies suggest that a high-fat diet, when combined with exposure to sunlight, may also promote cancers of the skin. So people, who are in great risks, BEWARE!
To prevent these kinds of infirmity, you should follow some guidelines for safe, healthy exposure to sunlight like wearing protective clothing. Even if you think your clothes are not in fashion, still wear them. Fashion is not going to die, we are. We could still apply fashion in wearing clothes, which could help reduce our risk on skin illnesses. Wear protective eyewear (basically the sun glasses or shades). There are many variety and sort of glasses, which could add to your sense of style. You got a fashion sense and your eyes are also protected. And lastly, apply protective sunscreen if needed. Sunscreens and sun blocks are really useful nowadays! Imagine our lives without these things. OUCH! I could see in your mind's eye that we are going to die of skin cancer.

If you have an outdoor trip or vacation coming up with your family and friends like going to a beach resort or hiking on mountains, prepare your skin by giving it progressive exposure in the days earlier and in advance. You can also take a few minutes outside your abode to enjoy the sunshine each morning. It will help improve your health and lift up your spirits. Sunlight contains Vitamin D, which is one of the nutrients needed for the body to energize the body.

For thousand of years, sunlight has been known as the mediator of life. But we know today that it can be healing or destructive; it can be the kiss of life or the kiss of death, depending on how we use it.

Theme songs of my life...

“Hello? Mr. DJ, I would like to request the song….”
Have you ever switch to an fm station where in you hear people’s voices over the phone, requesting the DJ’s to play their favorite songs over the radio? Well, I think Filipinos are really music lovers. Even if they don’t have any talents in singing, they still sing if that could make them happy. Life is like the tunes of a song. Sometimes it is happy, sometimes it would be sad. It could be exciting and sometimes boring. But most of the time, life is full of happiness. Below are stories behind each line from my favorite songs.

“So I sing this song to all of my age. For these are the questions we’ve got to face. And in this cycle that we call LIFE, we are the ones who are next in line…”(Next in Line)
Actually, my life was never as happy as now. Imagine, I can do anything I want. When I was a little girl, I usually stay at home and play with friends. I never cared about the world around me. I only care about my happiness. But when I was growing older, I realized that the only thing that could make me happy and become a better person. I became mature enough to handle difficult situations and I’m very proud of it!

“I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love suicide. And I’ll be better when I’m older. I’ll be the greatest FAN of your life…”(I’ll be)
A certain guy taught me not to be afraid to trust and love somebody who really completes you. He is always by my side whenever I feel down and so lonely. Whenever we faced challenges in life, he never left me hanging in mid air but instead, he held me in his arms to protect me from the things, which would try to hurt me. He never gave up on me whenever there are times I wanted to let go. I am just very thankful that he is always here by my side.

“Whenever you’re sad, whenever you’re crying I’ll be the one who’ll wipe away your tears. Whenever you’re cold, whenever you need me I’ll be the one who’ll run to you and give you my love. Would you know how much I love you so you better not let me down am I asking for too much, baby, just stick around”(Stick Around)
If someone needs me, I’ll always be there for him or her, even though I am not so close to that girl or guy, still I will be there. Whenever someone needs something to cry on due to heartbreaks and problems that he or she thought he or she would never surpass on, I will offer my shoulders. If someone needs to b comforted, I will offer my hug to him or her.

See? Whatever song you like; there’s always a story behind that. You wouldn’t like a song if you can’t relate on that, right? For heartbreaks, there are love songs around, for cheerful people; there are novelty songs for you. It is easier to sing love songs because the filings are genuine.

I'm Addicted...

“Addiction”. What comes to your mind whenever you hear this word? Let me guess…computer and video games, Internet, television, cell phones, or DRUGS. Well, what addiction means in this topic is not all about drugs, narcotics or ecstasies, but all about my addiction to some certain things. Maybe, it is time for the whole world (if the world cares about my blog) to know what ‘certain things’ for a simple and innocent girl like me (I don’t know if it is true) are so much addicted with. Are you ready? Chill in and expect the unexpected.

ADDICTED to electronics especially my cell phone and computer.
True. I can’t live without some electronics by my side. Thinking about my cell phone being sold and our computer being damaged by viruses makes me feel sick and go crazy. I can’t live without them.
ADDICTED to books.
Well, books make me feel accompanied and calm whenever I feel sick and whenever I can’t handle the challenges I am facing. I treat my books as my “best friends in silence”. At least they could keep secrets, right?
ADDICTED to TV shows and programs.
If somebody asked me what my favorite hobby is, I simply say, ”I love watching TV and listening my favorite songs on the radio! ” U-huh! It’s very tempting! I really don’t start and end my day without watching TV and listening to my favorite radio station for at least 30 minutes. I can’t go to school if I can’t watch nor listen to music. I also can’t go to sleep if I can’t do these “special routines” of mine.
ADDICTED to sleeping.
I really can’t understand and never will why do teenagers don’t take a nap for at least 30 minutes. If you ask my friends and classmates, I spend my free time SLEEPING! If that particular day is so exhausting, of course, I take a nap to take all away the pressure from schoolwork and tests. I assure you, when you woke up, you’ll wish to sleep forever!
ADDICTED to fashion.
I may not be a good dresser or a meticulous and fashionable person but whenever I play with colors, which I think would match, I go crazy because at least, I proved that I’m actually good at color combinations. I am really proud of myself.
ADDICTED to animes.
It is super and absolutely true. I am not really a great fan of anime when I was in my elementary years. But when I reached my high school years, I become very, extremely addicted to animes. I love watching them. All the girls in our class also loved animes. I didn’t became an anime addict in my former school because the girls in my class think that animes are only for those who have nothing to do with their lives and it could ruin your poise. What a cliché! I actually find animes interesting and amusing but some are too violent for young children to watch. Better guide them.

Two-Timing

Dissatisfaction is the common problem between relationships. That is one of the reasons why teenagers do “two-timing”. It usually starts when a partner does not give the enough necessities that the other partner needs. That is where it starts but maybe “two-timing” is just and addiction to some teenagers. Some of the persons I knew have this kind of addiction. They thrive for more. They just can’t have enough of it even if their partners are giving extra attention. When this person that I knew tried two-timing, she could not stop. Then she just added more and more. She had three or four partners in just a week. This addiction could become and epidemic if it spreads to every one. So if you still have a chance to run, then don’t think twice. Maybe I am just exaggerating here but it happens in real life. There are just selfish, spineless and pathetic persons here in this world. Two timing has a lot of signs. They first one is dissatisfaction, which I mentioned already; second is boredom, which occurs when the partner just gets bored with you even if you have given it all, they just simply want something new; the third sign is being selfish, a person just wants to have every one who is anyone to have it for them selves. This signs can even become reasons why they do and enjoy two-timing. The person I knew before said that she liked the exhilarating feeling of having two or more partners. She said that she like the dangerous feeling of having them all. She also admitted that having them makes her feel very “popular” in some way. Finally the truth hits her in the face. All they wanted from her was to have fun and have a taste with her “humps” and “milkshake” but she doesn’t regret what she did. She still loves to have more of them. Maybe this is an example of the addiction that I was telling you about. Even if you get hurt you still want to try it again and again and again. Have you heard the “collect and collect before you select” phrase. She once said that it was her motto in her so called successful love life. But how can you select when each one of your collection have felt betrayed and cheated. How can you select when all of them don’t want you because you have hurt there feelings? Why can’t “two-timing” a crime? Its hurts people, doesn’t it? That should go with the ten commandments of the Lord. Thou shall not two-time. Actually, maybe two-timing is already in the ten commandments of the Lord because two-timing is an act of cheating. Maybe I’m over reacting but it’s true, two timing is a despicable and vile thing to do. Don’t they care that there cheating everyone that they two-time and they are being cheated them selves. Don’t they think about the feelings of the people that the use and cheat?

Always and Forever Friends…

Friends. What do you think when you hear the word friends? Best of all? Accepts you for who you are? Always there for you? Helps you? Understands you? We all long for friends. Someone to talk to. Who will laugh with us. Cry with us. But people move a lot. Our lives are busy. We make it home at night lonely, tired, and with little energy to reach out to anyone, wishing someone would reach out to us. I know friends are all around you. But do you realize that there are only some that are always there for you? We’ll as for me; I’m really an expert when it comes to picking up friends.

I am really I shy type of person and I find a hard time talking to other people. Even at church, many of us stand at the edges, watching people talk and connect. I feel so alone, wishing I were even a part of a group. And so when I reached high school, I really find it hard to interact with other people. I always think about how to make friends and how do I begin, how to reach out, what should I say, will they like me. Sometimes, I became paranoid by these questions. I think it is because I got traumatize about the betrayal of my worst friend and best enemy ever. But because of “Health and Home: the 2002 book”, I learned to reach out with other people and where I got the idea to write this in my blog.

Based on my personal experience: I have this friend who was my best friend since childhood. We tell each other’s secrets and our friendship became stronger. However, I became more serious in my studies and we lost our communication. When I came back, what I saw really shocked me: I saw her with other “flirts” flirting with the boys. But because I was her friend, I accepted her. However, I didn’t know that when I’m with her, she’s nice. When I turn back, she would say mean things about me. Since then, I never spoke to her again.

You see, based on the experiences of other people, they hardly trust anybody and they pick whom to befriend with. As for me, I’m really happy to find friends in my school and in our neighborhood. They really are always there for me, and I really appreciate it. They can always be trusted. If you keep your secrets with them, you will be really sure that your secrets are in good hands.

Many of us have walls that take a while to break down. Often, it’s because you’ve been hurt by a friend before. It is harder to trust when previous friends have wounded you. Persevering love has a way of crumbling those walls and revealing good friendships. Be willing to be the first to reach out. Make a conscious decision not to wait for others to reach out to you. Determine to take the first move. Most importantly, pray to God. God desires for you to have friends. He planted that longing in your heart. And he has a special friend waiting for you to find.

Unexplained Phenomena:

Have you ever wondered if ghosts or supernatural beings exist? Do their existence make you have second thoughts? Some people acquire third eyes that made you see things which do not exists. Like ghosts, for example. I do believe in ghost, I know it sounds crazy or something but I actually believed on them. My classmates had experienced similar things like this.
I sometimes wonder whether these things are true. I don’t know but it just makes people think twice if such things really exist on this world. Science can’t even explain these events happening in our world today. But here are some unexplained phenomena, which I read last January 30, in the news article in Sunstar.
1)The Taos Hum. Some residents and visitors in Taos City, New Mexico, have for years been puzzled by a mysterious and faint low-frequency hum in the desert air.
2)Big foot and Loch Ness monster. In the absence of hard evidence, support comes down to eyewitness sightings. Since it is logically impossible to prove a universal negative, science will never be able to prove that these creatures exists.
3)Intuition. Intuition is difficult to prove or study, and psychology may only be part of the answer.
4)Mysterious disappearances. When the evidence is lacking and leads are lost, even police and forensic science can’t always solve the crime.
5)Ghosts. Ghosts are spirits of a dead person that visits the living. In most reports and Ghost investigators hope to one day prove that the dead can contact the living, providing a final answer to the mystery.
6)Déjà vu. Human psychology can offer more naturalistic explanations, but ultimately, the cause and nature of déjà vu itself remain a mystery.
7)UFOs. While careful investigation has revealed known causes for most unidentifiable flying objects (UFOs), some sightings will remain unexplained.
8) Near-death experiences. People who had near death have reported experiences such as going into a tunnel of light that may suggest Life Beyond. But no one has returned with proof or verifiable data from “beyond the grave.”
9)Psychic powers and ESP. Researchers have tested people who claim to have psychic powers and extra-sensory perception (ESP), though the results under controlled scientific settings have been negative or ambiguous. It has been argued that these powers cannot be tested, or somehow diminish in the face of skeptics or scientists. If so, science will never be able to prove or disprove the phenomena.
10)Mind-body connection. Medical science is only beginning to understand the ways in which the mind influences the body. The placebo effect, for example, shows that people can, at times, cause a relief in medical symptoms.

Of all, the most unexplainable to me is the Déjà vu. I experienced déjà vu a million times. But when I was still a little kid, I just thought it was a coincidence. I can’t tell if these are true but I know someday, we will find the answers for these unexplained phenomena. If you wan to know more about this, just chill in to www.livescience.com

Reflections on teachers and teaching

When I was a little kid, I used to daydream about my ambition in life. I picture out myself teaching my students about math. Teaching was my favorite profession way, way back in the past. But I guess it needs a lot of hard work just to teach your students about the lesson.

In our school, during the last week of January or first week of February, our school had a “Know Your School Day” or basically known as the KYSD. KYSD is the week wherein you experienced to be one of the faculty members or the staffs of the school. You were given a chance to indulge your most wanted position. You can be a teacher, a clerk, a guidance councilor or the greatest position that every student ever dreamed of, being the principal. But of course, being the principal could apply more pressure. Some students didn’t try at least one position because they say it could be tiring and could be stressful.

Teaching can be tiring and I admire all the teachers for teaching their students patiently. Teaching really needs patience, understanding, and perseverance to teach your students. I know that teaching needs a lot of hard work but I didn’t expect it to be really stressful. You should plan what you should do so that your students would have fun while they learn about the lesson you are teaching. You should be creative enough to teach those lessons, which adds to the tension and pressure you are experiencing. Teaching is also hard because even if you receive big amount of money as your salary, if your students can’t understand the lesson, all your hard work will be put to waste.

I also learned about the feeling where in your students don’t want to listen to you. It really, really makes me feel bad. But I know it was not my fault that they won’t listen to me. In my English class, some of my classmates have a lot of difficulties in understanding the lesson. I don’t know if I should blame myself that they have low grades in the quizzes. But somehow, a lot of them got high scores, which made me happy because I feel that all my hard work I put on it got rewarded.

At first, I really can’t imagine myself standing in front of my classmates to teach them the subject where I substitute my teacher in. But you know what, even if it was very stressful, it was so much fun. I can tell because I applied for a teaching position. I really have fun because I didn’t expect my classmates to treat me as a teacher and not a student like them. In my Alma matter, they treat their student teachers as students. I didn’t say that they don’t respect them but my point is, they shouldn’t treat them as students who were just hanging around in the room but as the person in authority. When you teach, always put it in your hearts that there is nothing bad in teaching. In fact, we can’t have doctors, nurses, engineers, etc. if there are no teachers around.

LOVE: inspiration or destroyer?

Have you ever experienced something towards someone that can’t be explain by scientific reasons? Many people experienced this and YES, they really love the feeling: It is like laying on a bed of roses that floats in the air! But some people consider this feeling as their “worst nightmare” ever! I think it is because of the heartaches that caused them so much pain.

What if somebody says he or she likes you? And to think you really have special feelings for this person…what would you do? Well, if you were asking for my opinion, it would be fair to him if you also tell him how you feel! In that way, that person would not lose hope on you and he or she would feel that he or she is important to you. You see, life is not that dreadful and rude to hurt you when you feel so much pain inside.

People who are lucky may feel that love is like a jungle. It is full of fun and adventure. If you have already experienced it, I don’t know but you could feel that you are the happiest person in the world or in the whole galaxy. I already experienced that and I admit, I almost daydream everyday and think of that person. I can’t eat well, sleep and concentrate. Sometimes, I began to think, is love really healthy? I thought it makes you become a better person. I thought it inspires you to do good things. But what happened to the world of love? It is full of cruelty, ambition, selfishness and heartaches.

I know why people experienced heartaches. In fact, my classmates are the best examples of it. Let’s take my best friend’s example: she likes this guy but the guy can’t even notice her and this guy loves another girl. So, my best friend gave him a love letter explaining how much she loves him and that she feels pain whenever she saw him with another girl by his side instead of her. But then, she feels that the guy got discourage and began to avoid her. Are guys really like that? Sometimes, I thought that they are very harsh for treating a girl like that. Is that the girl’s fault to fall in love with a stupid guy who can’t love them back? Love can sometimes be harsh but I know that’s the best thing ever happened to you, don’t you?

But can somebody blame you to fall for someone whom you think you can never be yours. Is LOVE really that dreadful to be hated by somebody who got hurt because of this “desirable but sad feeling?” You can never be sure when the right time comes for you to experienced this but once you did, you can never tell if you like what you feel or not. So keep on going on, if you’ve been hurt several times, don’t easily give up, maybe destiny is still looking for that right guy or girl to come along!

Me, myself and I

Do you remember in kindergarten wherein you don’t know the children around you? You don’t have any friends then suddenly, 10 minutes later, you found yourself playing with them. It is just like you were friends for quite a long time.

People say, “Oh, Kristie? She’s smart and a quiet type of person. She dances gracefully and a really good friend.” Sometimes, people are sometimes very judgmental when it comes in judging other people. They say I’m so judgmental and backbite who I really don’t like. But, do you think I believe them? No, I don’t! Besides, who are they to judge me like that? Do they really know me?

We’ll before anything else; I would like you to really know me better. I am not a quiet type of person. I am really noisy but I only make noise in the right time for chitchats with friends. I love to dance and I read a lot. Those are the only things that can make me calm when I am down and when I easily get discourage because of the challenges, which made me become a better person. I also love to listen to music, although I don’t have any talent in singing. I love to watch TV all the time. I can’t live without watching TV for at least one day.

Some things that people didn’t know about me are:
I am really a great fan of animes! Maybe girls don’t watch them because they are violent (although some are not), I really do LOVE them.
I love to cook. I love to cook fried rice (of course with my own recipe) with matching fried egg. I usually put art in cooking like putting something that would make my CREATION really look attractive.
I love suspense and horror movies. Although it doesn’t make me sleep at night, I love it. I don’t know why but I usually find adventure in it. I also wanted to try something new in the world of thrill and suspense.
I like to try to play tennis. I’m looking forward this summer to play this never-been-tried sport of mine, TENNIS. I really find it exciting and full of fun.
Princess Hours addict. I think everybody in Benton knows that I’m one. This is super, doper true. I don’t know why I like it but I think because of the story and because of the cute actors who act as Gian and Troy.
I love to write stories like novels, short stories, etc. Yeah, I don’t actually remember when I started to write something creatively. I think it is because I read lots of books and I watched movies, which influenced me to write.
I love to talk with friends. Super, doper, absolutely true. I spend my free time chatting with my friends. I like the company with my friends because I usually chat with them to stay away from pressure of schoolwork and quizzes.
And lastly, I treasure ‘anything’ that was given to me no matter how pricey or cheap it maybe. As long as they really give anything for it and it comes from their hearts.
Basically I don’t give this kind of information to other people because I thought they are nonsense. But now, it does make sense after all!

Extraordinary First Day

You know college would give you so much pressure that you think you can't even enjoy it.Have you ever felt something during your first day in school? Yeah, I know.I've experienced that when i first set foot in UP. I don't have any friends. I don't know who to deal with other people. It can be tiring sometimes but actually it's full of fun. You know, getting to know other people is like an adventure. But do you think different knids of people will get along with each other?

Wait 'till you see this movie: First Day High

It's all about different kinds of people who acted as strangers at first but did get along well during their times of trouble and excitement...There are the brainies and geeks who always face problems and formulas in Algebra and Chemistry. There are the sosy ladies who are fashion experts. Of course, the MVP athletes who are into sports than their studies. The Rebels who have nothing to do but to get into trouble with their professors. And lastly, the nice guys who are willing to help other people in times of need. But first, let me tell you about the different sections of First Day High:

Brainy High
Where the "braniacs and the geeks", as what they are called, belong. They love science so much. They like to invent things and love to test formulas for their invention. I admire these people because they are so smart and love to read. They like to cook and solve mathematical and scientific equations. But what they hated most are bullies and jocks.
Sosy High
Where the rich and those who love fashion belong. They love to buy things that they adore and go to parties. Sometimes, these people are spoiled by their parents. Watch out of these peole! And do you know what their ambition is... to meet PERFECTION!
MVP High
Where the athletes of the school belong. They love playing basketball. Basketball here, Basketball there,., they think the world revolves in basketball. Its like they can't live without it. Duh?! For them, fall seven times and stand up eight.
Rebel High
Where the rebels and bullies belong. They usually wreck your things up and live it broken. These people are USUALLY dangerous. But do you know that they love art?! At first, its hard to believe... but i guess... they are really good at it
Nice Guy High
Where the helpful people belong. They are very kind, gentle, charming, helpful and NICE! They are selfless and thoughtful. They are patient and do well to deal with other people. They love to make their mom and dad proud... isn't it amazing!!! I know what's on your mind now... "I wish my dream guy is like that" hehehe.
So guyz, i think I've already told you about these things...which one do you choose:
*the branies
*the sosies
*the MVP's
*the rebels
*the nice guys

well guys, take your pick! Are you one of us?
